The Solar Hot Water System at Bethesda’s Warrior Transition Unit is Complete!
Commissioned June 29th, 2011
I just got back this evening from Bethesda, Maryland where we have successfully commissioned a fifty-collector solar thermal system for the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. In the basement is the 2500 gallon Fluid Handling System that does all the work. Special thanks to my project manager, Terry, for keeping this job on track and getting it done on schedule! I’ll be posting some videos of this system in upcoming blogs, but I wanted to get the word out tonight that the system is operating smoothly. In fact, within the first few hours of testing yesterday, we generated over one million Btu, which even surprised me.
This facility includes one of the military’s newest Warrior Transition Units that have been established to provide personal support to wounded soldiers who require at least six months of rehabilitative care and complex medical management. Holocene is both proud and honored to be able to serve our troops this way.
