8th Annual Sustainable Energy Conference
We just spent the last two days at the McKimmon Center on the campus of NC State University as a sponsor of the 8th Annual Sustainable Energy Conference. The turnout this year was very strong and I was able to have many enjoyable conversations regarding solar hot water systems. Not surprisingly, many of the discussions revolved around the advantages of the drain back design over pressurized glycol systems. If you haven’t already seen my 3-part blog posting on the drawbacks of pressurized systems, click here to review. I am pushing to get the university to offer a commercial level solar hot water systems design curriculum through the NC Solar Center. This course would be targeted towards engineers across the country to help them understand proper design techniques for solar water heating systems. If you think this is a good idea or something you would be interested in attending, leave your comments below.
